We need it, we try to do it, we work hard at maintaining it, and struggle very hard to keep it, for the long or short term. With a goal, you need it, it’s not a want, and with it, a certain amount of strength is required to keep it. With your eyes on the prize, you need it, focus, and that’s what sexy this week.

Distraction is easy, and like a bad, if I may be so blunt, FART, it is ever creeping and lingers all the time and everywhere. You hear it, you smell, and sometimes you see it.

In another asinine show of control over it’s citizens,  the British government is once again telling them, who they consider STUPID, what they can and cannot watch when it comes to pornography and the type of depictions they can indulge. Dildos find themselves in the oddest of places, not just the familiar spaces originally designed and intended for. Once a person has had their fill they seem to end up in the bottom of the garbage can so no one can see the evidence of what has been getting you off as of late.

However here in the picturesque West End of Vancouver as evidenced by this lovely picture (to the right) a friend took, and immediately shared with me (although I can’t figure out why) they don’t always make it to the intended place of discard. We all have them, and in numerous forms. Be it a love of flowers, cars, jewelry, trips to the gym, food and good wine, bras and panties, or beautiful people, WE ALL HAVE THEM! Obsessions! For some it is a simple infatuation, quickly gotten over in a short time, but for those on the move, doing things with ambition, sometimes a little, or lot of inspiration is what those folks need, a healthy obsession, that’s what sexy this week.

Don’t quite understand? Well let me explain with my healthy obsessions.

As I progress through life and age, although I prefer to use the term “mature” because I believe we are all continually doing so, and I hate the word aging, I am striving to continually to perfect or modify myself for good health and longevity. What do I do? One of the things I do is go to the gym 6-7 days a week, of what is soon to be a year long test of myself after a nearly 2 year hiatus. As much as I like to think I am, I’M NOT! I am not immune to the hate that fills those who feel it their right to lash out and hurt those of us on this planet that are different. Those who have chosen to become happy in our own skin. Those like me!

I sit here writing this as a woman who is post-op transsexual having gone through all the procedures necessary for me to become happy. I am a woman inside and out, a woman now comfortable in my own skin, looking and feeling great, loving life, the liberties I fought hard for, and sex, yes sex! I love it, and so do the partners that have, and had the pleasure to share it with me.

I guess you could say I made up for lost time, and well, still am.

I am also a woman that sits here writing this with the memories of the stabbings I have endured, the knife slashes, the beer bottle wounds from being bashed, scars where chunks of flesh have been torn out by teeth from my attackers, the broken bones long since healed that still ache, areas on my head where the hair doesn’t grow back, (more…)

We all fuck up now and then, some more than others leaving a large part of the population scratching their heads in disbelief as to the frequency for that part of the populace. I’ve done it, I am sure many of my readers have, but with the unique ability to laugh off the idiocy of the situation, by owning it, I say!

A unique little story came my way involving the gaseous passing we all have from our anus, farts. Yes farts, they can smell downright nasty especially the silent but deadly ones, be trumpet loud, or high pitched like the squeak of a mouse. They are endless in the types and just as endless in the descriptives we use for them, but they make us laugh. The story I am going to reference deals strictly with the smell factor and the unique, if not humorous way of dealing with the aroma and end result. (more…)

After the eyes the next facial element to validate the look of a playful flirt is the mouth. A mouth that displays the upturned corner, or corners of a set of full lips beginning to flush with the heat of blood coursing through pulsing veins and arteries just below the surface of the skin. Lips that transform into many poses of communication, communication all a part of a directed smile, a flirt, creating what’s sexy this week, a mischievous smile.

Let’s be honest with each of all of us, we love the validation, the acceptance, the acknowledgement, whatever it takes! A smile goes a long way, especially when you know it’s sincere. FUSE: Revolution Counter Revolution

November 7, 2014, Vancouver, BC – FUSE, Vancouver Art Gallery’s enormously popular quarterly event where art, music, performance and drama collide, will be reinvented on the night of Friday November 14, 2014. Guest curated by multi-media maestro Paul Wong and produced by MediaLab, FUSE: Revolution Counter Revolution will be an unforgettable evening that riffs and mashes new ideas with old traditions, inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibition The Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China’s Emperors. In addition, FUSE-goers will have the opportunity to see Unscrolled: Reframing Tradition in Chinese Contemporary Art, a major exhibition featuring three generations of Chinese artists, prior to its official opening day (Saturday, November 15, 2014).
FUSE’s extraordinary lineup of artists, musicians and performers will fully engage visitors’ senses throughout the Gallery. Four floors of the exhibition space will be transformed with radical idealism and injected with iconic revolutionary figures, including:
Madam Mao – Enacted by Cara Sui, this tragic heroine/villain, wife of the Chairman, architect of the Cultural Revolution and leader of the Gang of Four, will engage the public and critique on art and culture.
Red Guard Ballerina – Taking cues from the ballet created during the Cultural Revolution in China (1966-1976), Carolyn Chan will strike heroic poses and pirouettes in her military gear.

The Monkey King – Dancer Michael Kong will be the mythical trickster depicted in Chinese folklore Journey to the West. He will pose, perch, hide, observe, intermingle, peek and bounce around in his new kingdom, the Gallery.
Emily Carr’s Psychic – This fictional figure, brought to life by Cindy Mochizuki, will read visitors’ fortunes in a seemingly private setting that is made public via live audio/video feed.

The cast will also include Beijing Opera diva Catherine Li as the Drunken Beauty, ArtCart Rickshaw by Ken Lum, Velvet Steele and team parading in a Sedan Chair, performance video by Catherine Chun Hua Dong, movement artist Sandra Moore, street portrait artists, Tea Master Olivia Cheung, the Flower Factory and Smoking Lily. DJ Kevin Shiu and DJ Don Chow will duel it out in the side-by-side Art Bars that feature proletariat beer and bourgeois cocktails, with clashing live visuals by Leó Stefánsson of Hybridity Media using social media platform #generateapp.

I have always said that there was more to it than just a simple liking for it! Kink for many, is in their genes, their well-being, their whole make-up. You are truly born with it.
