1920’s Berlin the city of Sin, Sex & Scandal. If they were roaring in the Speakeasys of the United States they were screaming bloody murder in the Kabaretts of East Berlin.
A haven of vice & decandence the socially disruptive Weimar Republic was at the hub of drug and sexual culture. Thrillseekers from all over the world flocked this debaucherous city seeking the finest, drugs, prostitution and erotic entertainment venues.
Gay clubs, transvesticism and nudist venues brought forth entertainment of all flavors breaking every artistic and sexual boundary that was laid in it’s path. Artists in Berlin became fused with the city’s underground culture as the borders between Kabarett and legitimate theatre blurred.
The Nazi party called it degenerate art. We call it one HELL of a party!
